Enamorarse de un lugar a primera vista es algo complicado, sobre todo por los prejuicios que tenemos siempre, pero hacerlo de Galicia es la cosa más sencilla del mundo ya que si hay un lugar que podemos decir que es entrañable, bello, lleno de contrastes e incluso misterioso, todo el mundo estaría de acuerdo en que ese lugar es Galicia.

Falling in love with a place at the first sight is something complicated, specially because of the prejudices we use to have, but with Galicia is actually really easy, as there are few places so lovely, beautiful, full of contrasts and even mysterious as this one.

Allí se esconden los lugares más bellos de nuestra geografía y es que, además es una región capaz de transportarnos a épocas pasadas en las que los celtas, los visigodos, los romanos e incluso los árabes moraron a sus anchas. Sus costumbres, su exquisita gastronomía, sus tradiciones legendarias, sus gentes, su acento y sus paisajes le hacen un lugar realmente variopinto.

There lay the most beautiful places in our geography, being also a region capable of making us travel in time to ancient ages when Celts, Visigoths, Romans and even Arabs used to live around. Their customs, exquisite gastronomy, legendary traditions, people, accents and landscapes, make of Galicia a really diverse place.

Además, el hecho de que sus orígenes sean celtas y que se haya amamantado con leyendas y tradiciones de ese pueblo, le han conferido una tradición antigua y unas gentes que han sabido hacer de las meigas, los trasnos y los seres fantásticos un nicho de mercado y un símbolo de toda una región. Recordemos también que los gallegos se defendieron con uñas y dientes de los pueblos invasores como Roma, llegando a ser de los últimos pueblos en caer bajo su manto. Y eso se nota.

The fact of its origins being Celtic and the amount of legends about it, has given Galicia an old tradition and people who has turned the “meigas” (witches), “trasnos” (goblins) and other fantastic creatures into merchandising and also a symbol of the whole region. You also need to remember Galician people fought tooth and nail against invaders such as the Romans, being one of the last people to be conquest.

Sus paisajes, alimentados y cuidados por un clima húmedo y fresco, son verdes, frondosos y abundantes, sus playas se pueden considerar paradisíacas con sus arenas finas y blancas y un mar cristalino no apto para frioleros, sus ciudades tienen ese olor a antiguo, a mar, a historia y sus sonidos inundan los sentidos con las gaitas, los tamboriles y las panderetas.

The landscapes, nourished by a wet and fresh climate, are green, dense and abundant; the beaches can be described as sublime, with fine white sand and a crystalline sea not suitable for those too sensitive to the cold; the cities have that smell of ancient times, sea, and history, and the sound of bagpipes, small drums and tambourines inundates the senses.
